1, Power your appliances from the day time solar energy.
2, Use your stored energy in your battery to power appliances during the evening.
3, Get an off-peak energy tariff, charge up your battery at night for around 10p per kWh, use this in the day time when it would normally cost around 30p per kWh.
4, Get a smart export guarantee SEG, sell back to the grid excess energy produced from your system, the average system exports around 1200 kWh per year anyway, you may as well get paid for it, British gas customers can apply for a 15p per kWh SEG payments. At the time of writing.
