A penny saved is a penny earned. Just because you have solar panels doesn’t mean you should just waste energy, the batteries job is to store it for later, so let it do its job. It sounds simple, but switching off lights, unplugging laptops and games consoles not in use will over time save you energy. Leaving the kettle to boil for cups of tea and then boiling it again minutes later because you forgot about it, is one we are all guilty of doing, and kettles use huge amounts of electricity.
Other favourites, tumble dryers running longer than needed, washing machines on high temperature, immersion heaters left on, dishwashers on high setting and outside lights left blazing all night.
